REMind for iPhone

Privacy Policy

Effective date: To be confirmed before publication

REMind is designed so sensitive research and health information can be processed on your device without being collected by Neuroline. This policy describes the current REMind application audited for App Store release.

The short version

REMind has no account system, advertising, tracking, analytics, or Neuroline-operated cloud sync. The app does not automatically send your health, microphone, diary, or questionnaire data to Neuroline or third parties.

Information REMind processes

When you choose to use the relevant features, REMind may process:

  • Apple Health sleep analysis and heart-rate samples;
  • Apple Health mobility measures, including walking speed, step length, asymmetry, double-support time, walking steadiness, and six-minute walk distance;
  • microphone audio during an enabled overnight sound-monitoring session;
  • questionnaire and onboarding answers, sleep diary entries, and session dates/times;
  • locally derived sleep, mobility, heart-rate, and acoustic-activity summaries.

Apple Health

Health access is read-only and controlled by you through iOS. REMind does not write data to Apple Health. Health samples are queried and summarized on your device. They are not uploaded to Neuroline. Apple does not tell apps whether each read category was granted, so an empty result can also mean that no matching data is available.

Microphone and sound monitoring

Sound monitoring is off until you enable it and grant microphone permission. While an overnight session is active, REMind creates a temporary local recording and analyzes metering levels on device for general acoustic activity. It does not transcribe speech, identify speakers, or classify sounds as a medical symptom.

After processing, REMind deletes the raw recording and retains only derived event metadata such as time, approximate duration, and engineering-level amplitude information. If a deletion is interrupted, the app retries narrowly scoped cleanup at startup and reset.

Storage and retention

REMind stores study information locally in the app's private storage so histories and summaries remain available between launches. There is no Neuroline account or cloud backup service in the current app. iOS and a user's device backup settings may separately govern system-level backups outside Neuroline's control.

Reports and user-directed sharing

You can ask REMind to generate a PDF report. The report is created locally and the iOS share sheet lets you choose whether and where to send or save it. Neuroline does not receive the report automatically. Once you send or save a copy elsewhere, that destination's privacy and retention practices apply, and REMind cannot recall it.

Reset All Data

Reset All Data removes REMind study records and preferences related to study participation, stops active sound monitoring, and cleans REMind-owned temporary audio. It preserves only the app's appearance preference. Reset does not revoke Apple Health permissions; manage those in iOS Settings or Health. It also cannot remove reports already shared outside the app, and OS-managed cache removal may not be immediate.

Services, analytics, and tracking

The current REMind app does not use advertising, cross-app tracking, analytics, remote crash reporting, or a Neuroline backend. Functional Apple and iOS services may process information as part of operating HealthKit, TestFlight/App Store distribution, backups, printing, or destinations you select in the share sheet, subject to their own terms.

Children's privacy

REMind is a research-oriented tool and is not designed specifically for children. Study sponsors and participants are responsible for ensuring that participation, consent, and device use are appropriate under applicable law and the relevant research protocol.

Research and medical disclaimer

REMind is not a medical device, does not provide a diagnosis or treatment, and is not an emergency service. Consumer wearable estimates and acoustic-event summaries can be missing or inaccurate. Seek professional medical advice for health concerns and contact local emergency services in an emergency.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy if REMind's data flows materially change and will revise the effective date above. A new privacy review is required before adding any cloud service, telemetry, support form, or remote data transfer.
